Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for ECSE, 0.5 FTE starting Fall 2026. Responsibilities include adhering to due process guidelines to evaluate and identify students' special education needs, developing and maintaining IEPs, facilitating IEP meetings, providing Rights and Procedural Safeguards information to families, and sharing progress reports. The role requires collaboration with general education teachers, supervising paraprofessionals in implementing IEP goals, maintaining data tracking on student progress, advocating for students with disabilities, implementing proactive behavioral interventions based on FBA results, and ensuring compliance with state and federal rules (FERPA, HIPAA, MN Government Data Practices Act). Knowledge of technology strategies for students, coordination with related service providers and outside agencies, and preparation for relevant staff development are also part of duties. The position is with Independent School District No. 622 in North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale (Beaver Lake & Gladstone locations). Required Qualifications
- Valid MN teaching license in a special education field
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience teaching school-age students
- Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge and experience with due process procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with conflict resolution
- Training and experience in behavior management and knowledge of crisis response
