Job Summary
Special Education Teacher responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs; adapting curricula and providing specialized instruction in one-on-one or small group settings; assessing student progress and maintaining data; collaborating with parents, general education teachers, psychologists, and therapists; managing classroom behavior; supervising paraprofessionals; and facilitating transitions between grade levels and post-secondary life. Requires Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education and MI teaching licensure; knowledge of IDEA, assessment tools, and effective instructional strategies for disabilities (e.g., autism, learning disabilities, emotional disorders); strong patience, communication, and adaptability.
