Job Summary
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines. Prepare diverse written materials including progress reports, notices of meetings, and prior written notices. Supervise and evaluate paraeducators while providing direction to district personnel under state and federal rules. Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary team members, parents, and administrators to ensure timely services and maintain effective collaborative relationships. Complete comprehensive documentation of all services and billing requirements as mandated by the contract district's policies. Apply current research and theory to inform programming decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Holds or is eligible for a teaching license, with the appropriate special education endorsement for the assigned grade level or age band
- Demonstrates knowledge of subject content, specialized curriculum, and individualized methodologies for effective teaching tailored to diverse learning needs
- Skilled in the use of multimedia and assistive technology to enhance learning for students with diverse needs
- Able to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrates skill in oral and written communication and excellent human relations skills
