Job Summary
Special Education Teacher - Behavior provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities, collaborating with parents and ARD teams to develop and implement IEPs, and using diverse instructional strategies and assistive technology to meet individualized needs. Responsibilities include planning and delivering instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs; assessing student learning styles; adapting curricula for students with special needs; participating in ARD committee meetings; managing classroom behavior and safety; supervising aides/volunteers; and maintaining open communication with families and colleagues. Requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements; experience through student teaching or approved internship is expected. The role emphasizes collaboration, assessment, curriculum adaptation, and adherence to district policies and safety procedures.
