Job Summary
Assist students with personal needs including hygiene, diapering, toileting, and clothing while supporting multiple challenges in the classroom. Follow prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs, maintaining composure during stressful situations. Provide wheelchair assistance when required and maintain various records and files. Work 7 hours daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with no lunch, adhering to a schedule based on student attendance. Accept assignments at multiple sites and serve as general help during down-periods. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of student needs, ability and desire to work with special needs students
- Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs
- Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations
- Good physical flexibility such as ability to run, walk, lift and/or respond to student physical needs
- Willingness to be trained in area(s) of student health related awareness and intervention
- Willingness to accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District
- Willingness to be assigned as general help during 'down-periods'
- Maintain various records and file, parent contact may be required
