Job Summary
Special Education Teacher sought to support the educational and behavioral goals of all students with an emphasis on students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Responsibilities include collaborating with classroom teachers, interpreting student abilities/disabilities, conducting diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, writing and implementing behavior improvement plans, facilitating IEP meetings and goals, pursuing student achievement and cultural proficiency, applying research-based planning and instruction, integrating culturally responsive teaching, serving as an advisor to a group of students, and maintaining regular communication with families about academic and social-emotional growth; requires current state license and comfort with growth-focused coaching and collaboration within a diverse, multi-cultural school community.
Required Qualifications
- Current state license
- Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- High level of comfort with growth-focused coaching environment
- Excellent organization and time management
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
