Special Education Teacher

Identify student educational needs and develop formal plans to address them. Create lesson plans covering academic, social, and communication skills, then deliver instruction individually, in small groups, or as a class. Observe students to evaluate abilities and strengths, working directly with them to improve weaknesses and prepare for standardized tests. Mentor students while maintaining a positive classroom environment, enforcing rules and supervising activities outside the classroom such as lunch or detention. Document educational goals and progress as required by state and facility standards. Communicate regularly with families, counselors, and administrators regarding student progress. Adhere to treatment plans and participate in team meetings as requested. Maintain a professional, empathetic attitude while prioritizing safety and resolving any patient needs or complaints.
