Job Summary
Conduct special education instruction for elementary students with intellectual/cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder, and neurological conditions. Administer protocols and assessments, then collect and analyze data to write and implement Individualized Education Plans and Student Support or Behavior Plans. Utilize Life-Skills Curriculums while collaborating with general education colleagues, administration, and families. Complete safety care training. Requires Massachusetts Certification in Moderate Special Needs. Salary ranges from $14,605.00 to $30,076.00. Position opens September 2, 2026 at Wellfleet Elementary School.
Required Qualifications
- MA Certification in Elementary Education and Moderate Special Needs
- Massachusetts Certification in Moderate Special Needs
- experience in the areas of working with elementary age students who present with an intellectual/cognitive impairment, language impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and/or neurological impairments
- experience and be trained in administering Protocols/Assessments
- experience utilizing Life-Skills Curriculums
- the experience and ability to collect and analyze assessment data
- write and implement Individualized Education Plans and Student Support or Behavior Plans
- work collaboratively and cohesively with general education, special education colleagues, administration, and families
