Job Summary

Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs in inclusion, resource, or self-contained settings using evidence-based strategies and curricula. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and assessments for diverse learning needs. Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and drive decision-making. Participate in IEP meetings to ensure families are fully informed and engaged. Provide case management for students, including documentation, stakeholder communication, and progress reporting. Implement positive behavior support plans and utilize restorative practices. Maintain accurate records in compliance with IDEA and Oklahoma State Department of Education guidelines. Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and related service providers. Serve as a model of KIPP's core values and contribute to a supportive school culture. This Full-Time, 10-month position at KIPP Tulsa offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (or eligibility to obtain certification)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance
  • Experience working with students with exceptionalities in a secondary school setting
  • Commitment to the success of all students
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Successfully passing a background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience working in a high-performing, college-preparatory school environment
  • Proficiency with IEP management systems (e.g., EdPlan) and student data platforms
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
