Job Summary
Special Education Paraeducator assigned to a Support Center at Fruitland Elementary School. Supports academic instruction for students with disabilities, providing modified curriculum instruction that may include functional academics, daily living skills, prevocational/vocational skills, behavior skills, and social skills. Position requires documentation of meeting paraeducator requirements, completion of district training (Fundamental Course of Study and 70 clock hours of district-provided professional development), and eligibility for the Paraeducator Certificate Program. The role may involve working primarily with one student and includes training references and references requirements for expedited employment processing.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least eighteen years of age.
- Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Fulfill ONE of the following conditions: (a) Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; (b) Earn 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher; (c) Score 455+ on the ParaPro Assessment (ETS); (d) Score 220+ on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessment; (e) Score 65%+ on The Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program; (f) Complete an apprenticeship as a paraeducator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
