Job Summary
Directs the provision and oversight of special education programs and Lange Kindergarten operations within Oakwood City School District. Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel, advocates for students to ensure inclusive educational opportunities, guides staff on assessment strategies and intervention techniques to address performance gaps, and manages the kindergarten building staff and program effectiveness. Responsibilities include assigning teachers to classrooms, coordinating student placements in alternative/out-of-district programs, maintaining relationships with parents and community partners, and ensuring compliance with Ohio educator licensure and evaluation requirements. Requires a Master's Degree and an Ohio principal/administrative license with OTES 2.0 credentialed evaluator status; possesses strong leadership, collaboration with families and external agencies, and a commitment to high standards in a kindergarten-focused, special education leadership role.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Holds a current Ohio principal/administrative license
- Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES 2.0) credentialed evaluator status
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a willingness to take on challenging tasks
- Embraces high-performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience)
- Holds/maintains required Ohio State Board of Education credentials
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment
