Job Summary
Special Education RISE Teacher delivering instruction across Reading, Writing, Math, History, and Adaptive PE to students with varied disabilities; responsibilities include adapting lessons, developing and implementing IEPs, assessing and tracking student progress, coordinating related services, facilitating family engagement, and maintaining a data-driven approach to maximize student achievement while meeting district and state standards; requires Texas Special Education certification and a Bachelor’s Degree, with a typical 40+ hour workweek and potential after-hours tutoring; generous benefits package and potential relocation assistance offered by IDEA Public Schools in El Paso, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- Experience in a Special Education classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities (strongly preferred)
- Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required); appropriate grade and subject band core content certification(s) or Texas Core Content Competency Worksheet (required)
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to instruct students and manage student behavior; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
