Job Summary
Co-Teacher in IDEA Public Schools Special Education program supporting students with significant cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities in K-12 settings. Assists in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), supports daily living and vocational skills, and helps students participate in activities inside and outside the classroom. Collaborates with professionals (speech therapist, social worker, occupational and physical therapists), assists with maintaining student records, and supports students with emotional or behavior concerns. May include daily living assistance such as feeding, lifting, and toileting in Life Skills Unit; bus riding may be required at some campuses. Compensation is hourly ($15.51–$21.33) with annualized payout over 12 months. Required Qualifications
- Education: At least 48 college hours required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience: Experience working with children with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification preferred.
