Job Summary
Special Education RISE Co-Teacher assists in the educational and social development of students with cognitive/developmental disabilities in IDEA Public Schools, supporting IEP implementation, daily living and vocational skill development, and collaboration with related services (speech, OT, PT). The role involves working in small cohorts (often 1 to 3) within K-12 settings, aiding classroom teachers, and helping students participate in activities and general education alongside peers; duties may include assistance with daily living activities, behavior support, and occasional bus supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Education: At least 48 college hours required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience: Experience working with children with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification preferred
