Job Summary
Special Education Resource Teacher provides targeted instruction and support to 4th and 5th grade students with IEPs, focusing on ELA and Math services, delivering specially designed instruction in small group/individual settings, monitoring progress toward IEP goals, developing and updating IEPs, collaborating with general education teachers to support inclusion, modifying curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, utilizing data-driven instructional strategies, participating in IEP meetings and parent conferences, communicating with families, and ensuring compliance with timelines and legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state teaching license with endorsement in Special Education (LBS1 or equivalent)
- Experience working with elementary students, preferably in grades 4–5
- Strong knowledge of ELA and Math instructional practices and interventions
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance requirements
- Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
