Job Summary
Plan and deliver comprehensive instructional programs for students with disabilities under the guidance of the site administration, adapting teaching methods to individual student needs; develop, implement, and monitor IEPs; collaborate with regular and special education staff to place students in the Least Restrictive Environment; administer assessments and tests, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings and transition planning; communicate with families and coordinate with district services to support student growth, using a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to support learning; maintain a positive classroom environment, ensure safety, and uphold professional standards and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work.
- Possession of a valid Nevada Teaching Certificate issued by the State of Nevada: 1. Valid Nevada Exceptional Pupil Education Endorsement in appropriate areas. 2. Valid Nevada Special Education Generalist Endorsement.
