Job Summary
The role focuses on organizing and managing special education records to support teachers and related services. Responsibilities include managing the special education database, monitoring enrollment, processing referrals, assigning case managers according to SET decisions, registering new students, obtaining IDEA paperwork, tracking IEP and triennial eligibility dates, scheduling IEP/eligibility meetings and parent conferences, preparing and distributing paperwork to families and district offices, maintaining confidential student records, attending team meetings to take minutes, answering phones for the resource room, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Required skills include proficiency with computers and office software, strong attention to detail, good judgment in prioritizing tasks, and the ability to communicate tactfully with staff and families. Education required: High School diploma or equivalent, with some college education preferred; Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance is required. Position is part-time (6 hours per day, 193 days per year) located in Portland, Oregon, with benefits typical of the district. Hiring start August 27, 2026; application deadline July 12, 2026.
