Job Summary
Assist in the provision of educational experiences for special education students by completing activities assigned by the supervising teacher and principal. Support classroom management, implementation of behavioral plans, and student integration into regular classrooms while maintaining records for individual students. Provide personal care including toileting, feeding, and hygiene assistance, and distribute medications only after nurse training. Prepare classroom materials, correct assessments, and assist with technology under teacher direction. Maintain confidentiality, work independently until the end of the scheduled day, and provide relevant information for IEP development.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to relate to children with special needs
- Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Physical capacity profile test
