Job Summary
Assist the teacher in providing each student with a program that will enable the student to reach his/her fullest potential. The paraprofessional will support the teacher by reinforcing materials, supervising students, assisting with health-related procedures, managing classroom routines, operating teaching aids, contributing to IEP-related activities, and performing clerical and logistical tasks to maintain an effective learning environment. The role involves working with individual students or small groups, supporting behavior management, and collaborating with teachers during workshops, in-service trainings, and meetings. The position is a 9-month non-exempt paraprofessional role based in Wright City, Missouri, with responsibilities spanning classroom, lunch, and school-wide activities. Essential functions include reading, writing, math competencies, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess good communication skills and have the ability to work with students and parents.
- Paraprofessionals are required to obtain 60 college credit hours or
- Have passed the ParaPro Assessment (before September 23, 2013) or
- Have passed the Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (September 23, 2013 through June 20, 2024) or
- Have passed the ParaPro Assessment through ETS (July 1, 2024 forward) or
- Completed the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course in order to work under the direct supervision of an appropriately certified teacher to provide instructional assistance.
