Job Summary
Provide support for instruction to students and assist teachers in implementing classroom disciplinary plans and special educational plans. Supervise students at all times while participating in building, grade level, and subject area committees. Engage in professional development activities and assist the teacher in communicating regularly with parents regarding progress and educational concerns. Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner, and report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by Board policy. Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team, or other student assistance teams as requested.
Required Qualifications
- 60 hours college
- Valid Missouri Substitute Certificate
- Read and understand board policy, administrative procedures and forms and governmental regulations and guidance as applicable or conveyed by the supervising teacher
- Complete forms and engage in written correspondence
- Present information to students when requested and effectively and respond to questions
- Work with basic mathematical concepts
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Solve a variety of problems in many different situations
- Interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
