Job Summary
Special Education Paraprofessional for the ASD SPECTRUM Program in Winona, MN, full-time during the 9-month school year. Responsibilities include assisting teachers with instructional duties, organizing teaching materials, providing reinforcement activities, performing clerical tasks (attendance records, progress reports, copies, bulletin boards), adapting activities under supervision, administering tests/homework as needed, collaborating with staff, supervising students to maintain a safe learning environment, and communicating with students, staff, and parents. Requires a high-school diploma or equivalent (or higher), Minnesota ParaPro certification or higher degree, Safety Care certification, experience with students with behavioral needs, comfort with technology, strong verbal/written communication, teamwork, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or equivalent and meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment (provided by HVED), or Associates Degree or higher degree
- Certified in Safety Care (training provided)
- Experience working with students with behavioral needs
- Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with Microsoft Office
