Job Summary
Special Education Paraprofessional for the SAIL Program in Winona, MN, full-time during the 9-month school year. Supports teachers in an Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD) program, assists with instructional activities, reinforcement tasks, and classroom organization. Performs clerical duties such as attendance records, filing, and bulletin boards; communicates with students, staff, and parents; collaborates with supervising teachers; and monitors students to maintain a safe learning environment. Requires high school diploma or equivalent with Minnesota ParaPro, or an associate degree or higher, safety-care certification, experience with behavioral needs, instructional support skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Lifts up to 50 pounds and works as part of a team under the supervising teacher.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and meets the Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment (provided by HVED); or Associates Degree or higher
- Certified in Safety Care (training provided)
- Experience working with students with behavioral needs
- Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience with Microsoft Office
