Special Education Paraprofessional

Special Education Paraprofessional assists students with disabilities inside and outside classroom under supervision of a certified teacher, implements IEPs, supports self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities, and performs transportation and daily care tasks (e.g., feeding, bathroom needs). The role requires high school diploma or GED, Texas educational aide certificate, and two years of experience with children; duties include physical assistance, crisis intervention, data collection, and collaboration with teachers, substitute teachers, and staff, while following district safety and confidentiality protocols.
