Job Summary
Support classroom teachers in preschool settings by implementing instructional strategies, assisting students in resource and self-contained classrooms, and facilitating small group or individual activities based on lesson plans. Provide direct support including toileting, hygiene assistance, and specialized behavior management while ensuring adherence to IEPs, behavior plans, and healthcare plans. Conduct student assessments, collect progress data, and assist with grading and routine recordkeeping. Prepare instructional materials, manage classroom equipment, and maintain housekeeping standards. Supervise students during classroom activities and assist with bus loading, unloading, and monitoring for school-related travel. Ensure safety compliance and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.
Required Qualifications
- Education level in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines
- Certification as mandated by the Professional Standards Commission
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree
- Passing of the GACE Ethics Assessment
- Passing of the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner
