Job Summary
Special Education Paraprofessional/ABA Paraprofessional provides one-on-one or small-ratio support to children and young adults with disabilities, autism, developmental delays, or behavioral needs. Under the direction of a BCBA, you will implement individualized academic, behavioral, communication, social, and daily living programs, use ABA strategies to support skill development, collect data on treatment goals and IEP-related objectives, and communicate progress to families and team members. You will prepare materials, reinforcers, activity schedules, and session documentation; collaborate with BCBAs, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, school teams, and other providers; participate in supervision and training; and help maintain a positive, safe, and supportive therapy environment. Preferred candidates include those with experience in autism, developmental disabilities, education, childcare, therapy, or behavioral health, with RBT certification preferred but not required. Flexible scheduling with day and evening shifts; multiple shifts between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM, mostly at clinic locations in Sagamore Hills/Northfield and Norton, OH, with some services in clients' homes, schools, or community settings around the greater Cleveland-Akron area.
Required Qualifications
- No prior RBT certification is required at hire
- Must be able to obtain RBT certification and CPR certification within 30 days of hire
- Employment contingent upon completion of required pre-employment screenings including BCI/FBI background checks
- Must be able to assist with client safety, transitions, and mobility needs as part of supervision
- Must be willing to receive feedback and follow treatment plans with consistency
