Job Summary
ParaEducator at New Milford High School provides classroom support to special education students under the supervision of a licensed teacher, building principal, and/or supervisor of special education. Duties include implementing individual and small group interventions, administering, scoring and recording achievements and diagnostics under the teacher's direction, assisting with material handling and classroom routines, supporting substitute teachers, guiding independent study and remedial work, attending professional development, and performing related tasks as assigned. Requirements include a high school diploma with either an Associate's Degree or 60 college credits or successful Parapro Assessment, plus experience working with children. The position is full-time with a 183-day work year and 7-hour work days, located at New Milford High School in Connecticut.
