Job Summary
Paraprofessional provides classroom and school-wide support by assisting the teacher in preparing educational materials, working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives, and handling daily routines such as distributing supplies, attendance, and grading quizzes. Additional duties include lunch/recess/hall-monitoring and bus duties, maintaining bulletin boards and learning centers, and participating in required Dual Immersion training. Requires the ability to lift and move loads, follow instructions accurately, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with students and adults; experience with Dual Immersion language instruction is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Pass GACE para assessment or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours or Associate's Degree or higher (GaPSC-accepted)
- Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate
- 0 – 1 year experience
- Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately
- Proficiency in spoken and written language of instruction (Dual Immersion)
