Job Summary
Assist a certified teacher by providing specially designed instructional and non-instructional activities for students in small groups and one-to-one settings. Responsibilities include carrying out instructional programs to meet individual learning needs, implementing and modeling intervention/instruction for students with intensive needs, data collection per lead teacher instructions, advocating for student needs, effective communication with students and staff, and facilitating instruction and activities in the classroom and school environment. The role involves physical duties to support students (lifting, positioning, assisting with mobility/equipment for students), maintaining student confidentiality, and collaborating as part of a team while supporting daily living and self-care activities. Must be at least 18, able to lift varying weights, and able to work with students with significant support needs; high school diploma is required with associates degree or two years of college highly preferred.
