Job Summary
Deliver a variety of support duties related to a sound academic program and maintaining a healthy, safe, and supportive school environment for children with special needs under direct supervision. Adapt curriculum and provide parallel activities, assist with communication, and supervise academic testing while ensuring student confidentiality. Provide physical assistance including mobility support, hygiene tasks, and loading/unloading buses, and monitor environmental cues to prevent distractions. Assist the classroom teacher with developing behavioral intervention programs and escort students during travel, lunch, recess, and field trips. Participate in staff meetings and professional learning as requested, maintaining consistent and reliable attendance throughout the school year.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to complete CPI training
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students, schools, teachers and classrooms
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- The employee will remain free of any alcohol or drugs throughout his/her employment with the district
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Experience working in an academic environment
- Experience working with school age youth
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills
