Job Summary
Monitor students individually, in small or large groups, and enforce pupil behavior set forth by the building principal to ensure a safe, secure environment. Assist in a self-contained special education classroom, provide leadership, and employ strategies to manage student behavior and conflict. Support classroom management duties, including small group instruction, and assist students with computers or clerical tasks using office equipment. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and attend CPI training and refresher courses as assigned. This role is part of the AMS Self Contained Behavioral Support Resource Room, with assignments subject to student and district needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks
- Rapback Enrollment through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
- Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement
- Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Training and Reporting
- Negative drug screen result
- Must possess computer skills to assist students with computers or when performing clerical duties
- Operate office equipment
- Must be punctual and capable of completing all the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must complete all required compliance courses as assigned
