Special Education Paraprofessional

Support and act in accordance with the school's mission statement, state, and federal laws while demonstrating knowledge of student educational, medical, physical, sensory, speech/language, and social/emotional needs. Facilitate appropriate social interactions by prompting, modeling, and reinforcing behaviors in general and small group settings. Demonstrate knowledge of and assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs, monitor and document student progress via data collection, and communicate updates to the Special Education Liaison. Operate and care for classroom equipment, assist students in mastering instructional materials, and assist in the follow-through of behavior plans and interventions. Help students develop organizational systems, attend regularly scheduled department meetings, consult with teachers and the Director to resolve concerns, and proctor state assessments when requested. Maintain strict confidentiality, participate in required trainings, and perform other assigned responsibilities. This 184-day position reports to the Director of Special Education.
