Job Summary
Provide support to special education staff by monitoring students in educational settings, assisting with teacher support including objective observation and data keeping, preparing and organizing materials, and helping implement student programs. Assists with personal care needs of individual students as needed, demonstrates sensitivity to diversity in cultures and backgrounds, and performs other duties as assigned by the building principal or supervising teacher.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or higher
- 60 college semester credits
- Highly qualified status through ParaEducator or ParaPro exam
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs)
- Ability to work with students with mild to severe disabilities
- Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
