Job Summary
Conduct whole group, small group, or individual classroom activities while assisting with daily routines and student supervision. Follow the supervising teacher's direction to support student assessment, grading, and data collection on progress. Manage routine record keeping, prepare instructional materials, and handle classroom housekeeping and equipment inventory. Provide daily assistance with school functions and participate in professional learning. Maintain confidentiality regarding financial and personal information while serving as a role model. Travel to various school sites and work in outdoor conditions, requiring reliable attendance and safe activity conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission
- Ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals
- Ability to write correspondence and reports
- Ability to effectively articulate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to conduct position related data analysis
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to facilitate the problem solving processes
- Ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies
- Ability to interact effectively with colleagues, administrators, teachers, staff members, students using tactful yet effective skills
- Ability to collaborate well with others and display a cooperative attitude
- Service oriented and actively seek ways to assist others
- Must serve as a role model to students
- Appropriate dress and grooming consistent with established standards required
- Must be able to walk, stand, and lift
- Must be able to crouch or kneel
- Must be able to exert or lift up to 50-75 pounds
- Travel to home sites, school sites, and other locations is required
- Must be at work on time
- Must meet attendance standards
- Must conduct activities safely
- Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling job duties
