Job Summary
Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or 504-behavior plan as directed by the special education team. Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction specially designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from their disability, including resource room, inclusion, and pullout services. Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially while attending professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents. Assist with required compliance documentation and maintain the ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional
- Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications, preferred
