Special Education Paraprofessional at Brooklyn Dreams Charter School

Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or 504-behavior plan, supporting them 1:1 or in small groups. Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction designed to meet the unique needs of each student resulting from disability, including resource room, inclusion, and pullout services. Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially while attending professional development, specialized trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents as required. Assist with the required compliance documentation and defuse situations to prevent escalation. This full-time, 35-hour role supports 500+ K-8 students at Brooklyn Dreams Charter School in Brooklyn, NY, fostering academic excellence within a safe, culturally celebrating environment.
