Job Summary
Special Education Paraprofessional at North Little Rock School District supports instructional programs under supervision of a teacher, providing direct services to students with special needs, assisting with lesson delivery, adapting activities, monitoring safety and progress, collecting data, and using classroom technology and materials to enhance student learning. Responsibilities include implementing instructional plans, supporting students with disabilities or limited English proficiency, assisting with assessments, preparing teaching aids, and coordinating with teachers and families to support student progress. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree, 60 hours of college credit, or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis Exam
- Experience in educational settings preferred but not required
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and educational technology
- Certificates & Licenses: Teaching-related certifications preferred
- Background checks required (ASP/FBI and Child Maltreatment)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to manage and supervise students in various settings
