Job Summary
Assist teachers in delivering instruction, reinforcing learning concepts, and providing one-on-one or small group support to students. Monitor student behavior to ensure a safe, inclusive environment while implementing accommodations and modifications as directed. Prepare instructional materials, resources, and activities, and serve as a role model to promote positive behavior and respect. Maintain accurate records of planning and implementation, communicate with the special education team, and attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in a classroom or program setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with designing and implementing educational or recreational activities
- Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency protocols
- Creativity and flexibility in planning activities to engage diverse learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs
