Job Summary
Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with disabilities in general education classrooms or center-based settings. Assist teachers with lesson planning, IEP data collection, and implementing accommodations and behavior intervention plans. Facilitate student interactions, communicate daily with families, and maintain confidentiality. Support curriculum implementation, extended assessments, and skill replacement curricula focused on inclusion. Participate in professional development, peer coaching, and best practice sessions. Perform additional duties such as advisory classes, tutoring, and student recruitment as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- Demonstrate 'In-Field' Status to be a Paraprofessional in one of the following ways within 30 days of your start date
- An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
- Desire to personally professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist educator
- Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
- Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
