Job Summary
Special Education Paraprofessional in the 18-22 Secondary Transition Program (Wings) provides individual or small-group support to adult students with disabilities under the supervision of the special education teacher and bus personnel. Responsibilities include assisting with meeting transition, academic, and physical needs identified in IEP goals; maintaining confidentiality under FERPA; and collaborating with school staff. Schedule is part-time (FTE 0.4875, 19.5 hours/week) with a start date in late August, and compensation includes hourly rate ($21.15-$21.63) and benefits eligibility potential. Requires a high school diploma or GED and relevant education/paraeducator qualifications; RN will delegate health tasks with training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of post-secondary education or completion of the Paraeducator program
- Ability to work with staff and an educational team to provide services to students with disabilities
- Previous experience working with students or adults with disabilities preferred
