Job Summary
Special Education ParaEducator role supports students with disabilities under guidance of certified instructional staff. Responsibilities include performing academic, therapeutic, and recreational tasks; working with small groups and individual students; assisting with preparation of instructional aids and displays; supervising during lunch, assemblies, and activities; handling routine classroom clerical tasks; maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct; and participating in staff development. The position contributes to an inclusive learning environment and ensures safety and compliance with school policies and state/federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, preferred
- Three years of school experience, preferred
- At least eighteen years of age
- Valid Alabama driver’s license
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may require
