Job Summary
Conduct individual and group supervision of students across classrooms, cafeterias, and hallways while implementing behavior management strategies. Assist with student health needs under nurse guidance, facilitate mealtime and personal hygiene support, and transport students to and from buses or cars. Prepare educational materials and work one-on-one to complete assigned tasks, maintaining safety and positive relationships throughout. Ride the bus with students as needed and adapt duties based on building and district requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Two year post secondary education
- Paraeducator certificate
- Qualifying score on NCRC assessment test
- Willingness to assume responsibility
- Ability to work well with others
- Flexibility in working with classroom teachers
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
- Capable of representing the school in a professional manner
