Job Summary

Conduct individual and group support for students under professional staff direction while supervising them in classrooms, cafeterias, and hallways. Implement behavior management strategies and assist with health needs, mealtime, and personal hygiene under nurse guidance. Ride the bus with students and transport them to and from vehicles as needed. Prepare educational materials and assist with curriculum logistics. Maintain student safety and represent the school professionally. Work seven hours daily with flexibility to extend beyond standard hours as district needs vary.

  • Ability to work well with others
  • Flexibility in working with classroom teachers
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
  • Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, communication skills, and dress
  • Regular attendance
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
