Job Summary
Implement instructional activities with students as directed by the teacher or building principal in school and community sites. Assist in preparing lesson plans, instructional materials, and data collection while acquiring knowledge of curriculum content. Manage student behavior and physical needs, including feeding, toileting, dressing, and heavy lifting, plus administer medications as prescribed. Complete daily work schedules and assist with classroom maintenance, lunchroom, recess, and bus duties. Participate in inservices, staffing, and faculty meetings while adhering to Board of Education policies. This 181-day contract role pays $15.00 to $27.45 hourly at Chenal Elementary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate's degree (or higher) degree or passed a paraprofessional academic assessment test
- Ability to work with special students
- Some heavy lifting of students is required
