Job Summary

Deliver high-quality 1:1 and small group instruction tailored to students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, focusing on foundational skill development in ELA and Math. Adapt classroom assignments to meet specific learning needs and implement proactive behavior interventions to maintain a safe environment. Collaborate with General Education teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure effective implementation of accommodations within a resource model. Communicate regularly with families and providers while maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior data. Lead or participate in IEP meetings to provide data-driven recommendations for future programming, ensuring all services comply with IDEA.

Required Qualifications

  • Middle School Special Education Teacher (Grades 6–8) experience
  • K–8 model school experience
  • Experience delivering 1:1 and small group instruction tailored to Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Knowledge of foundational skill development in ELA and Math
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based strategies to support student access to grade-level content
  • Ability to adapt and modify classroom assignments to meet specific learning needs and accommodations
  • Experience implementing proactive and positive behavior interventions
  • Ability to maintain a productive and safe learning environment
  • Experience collaborating on the development and monitoring of student behavior plans
  • Knowledge of social-emotional growth support strategies
  • Experience applying appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Ability to foster student self-regulation and engagement
  • Experience partnering with General Education teachers
  • Ability to ensure effective implementation of classroom accommodations and modifications
  • Experience working within a resource model
  • Ability to coordinate with paraprofessionals and support staff
  • Experience providing seamless services within both resource centers and general education classrooms
  • Experience communicating regularly with families, related service providers, and administrators
  • Ability to share insights regarding student development
  • Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student performance
  • Experience tracking progress toward IEP objectives
  • Experience collecting and maintaining behavior data
  • Knowledge of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) compliance
  • Experience leading or participating in IEP meetings
  • Ability to provide comprehensive student summaries
  • Ability to provide data-driven recommendations for future programming
