Job Summary
Special Education Math Tutor to provide 1:1 in-home math instruction for an 8th-grade student with Autism and ADHD in Los Gatos, CA. Deliver structured, step-by-step math lessons, breaking concepts into manageable parts, using visual supports and manipulatives, and reinforcing learning with repetition. Focus on foundational math skills, attention/focus support, and building confidence through positive reinforcement within a safe, supportive learning environment. Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays after 3:30 PM; approximately 73 hours per month (1.5 hours per session, twice weekly). Start ASAP. Must be female. Competitive pay of $25–$35 per hour; opportunities for additional sessions in the future.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with students with Autism and ADHD
- Strong background in special education or behavioral support strategies
- Skilled in providing structured, step-by-step math instruction
- Comfortable using visual supports, manipulatives, and repetition-based teaching
- Patient, calm, and consistent in approach
- Able to provide gentle redirection and support attention/focus needs
- Must be female (student is not comfortable working with male tutors)
