Special Education (Life Skills) Teacher

Job Summary
Provide special education instruction to Life Skills students; develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and instructional materials to match student ability levels. Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD processes; implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill-development programs; assess and plan based on diverse learning styles; adapt curricula for students with special needs; manage classroom and supervise instructional aides; participate in ARD meetings and select instructional media; ensure safety and compliance with district policies; maintain open communication with parents and colleagues; support extracurricular activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment
- Special Knowledge/Skills: ARD and IEP knowledge
- Experience: student teaching or approved internship or related work experience
