Job Summary
Special Education Instructional Coach documents a role focused on delivering content and instructional expertise to support students in the special education program. Responsibilities include modeling demonstrations, observing classroom instruction, coaching teachers one-on-one and in groups, delivering professional development, aligning instruction with standards (IEPs, TEKS/SEs), analyzing student data to support school improvement, and collaborating with administrators and teachers to design high-quality, standards-based instruction and effective instructional practices. The role emphasizes a growth mindset, collaborative coaching, and capacity-building across campuses, with emphasis on Dyslexia-related support and reading instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification in special education or related fields
- Campus leadership experience
- Strong curriculum background in effective instruction
- At least five years successful teaching experience
- Experience with professional development and training
- Experience in teaching reading content
- Dyslexia Certification preferred
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification in reading or related field preferred
- Academic Language Therapist Certification preferred
