Job Summary
Assist certified personnel in providing educational experiences by reinforcing positive behavior, tutoring individual and small groups, and correcting home and seat work. Monitor and report student behavior, assist with selfcare activities including feeding and toileting, and help children solve personal conflicts. Prepare instructional displays, check standardized tests, and support classroom organization while operating audiovisual and office equipment. Work three days a week for seven hours, reporting to the principal or designee. Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to district policies regarding conduct and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of collegelevel training or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment test.
- Demonstrates competent language skills.
- Three years experience in working with students with multicultural and multiethnic backgrounds.
- Has demonstrated ability to work with children in an organized setting.
- Has met the requirements of a criminal records check as specified by Kentucky State Law.
- Has met health requirements as specified in district personnel policy.
- Must demonstrate and/or develop skills to operate office and educational equipment.
