Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups; monitor and report student progress; support health services provision and health safety practices; perform routine clerical tasks and operate instructional/office equipment; help prepare instructional materials, administer tests, recordkeeping, and coordinate with teachers and parents to support student needs. Requires high school diploma or GED with additional education/qualifications, ability to work with diverse students, and readiness to perform health-related procedures as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, high school certificate of completion, or GED
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education or an associate's or higher degree or meeting a rigorous standard of quality through a state assessment (Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment) and TABE
- Is approved in writing to perform health procedures/services per instructions
- Ability to assist in instruction and provide health services as assigned
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic, reading, writing; ability to communicate with students, parents, staff
- Experience in working with children in an organized setting
