Job Summary
Support lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups, following assigned instructional plans. Help plan classroom activities as directed and support the teacher in student and parent relations. Administer duties in conformity with ACCEL Schools' philosophy, the school's governing board, the State Board of Education, and applicable laws. Assist with school activities including parent-faculty nights, assemblies, fundraisers, chaperoning, and faculty committees. Perform clerical tasks such as grading papers and making copies. Assist with classroom technology and maintain cleanliness in classrooms, lunchrooms, and other areas. Implement the school's mission statement in all activities. Perform other duties including field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Paraprofessional's Exam
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
- Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus
